The ceasefire process is structured in three phases.
Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has warmly welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, describing the development as a positive step towards peace in the region.
In a statement issued on January 15, 2025, the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed support for the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, calling for immediate and full implementation of the deal. Pakistan further emphasized its hope that the agreement would pave the way for a permanent ceasefire and long-lasting peace in Gaza.
The Foreign Ministry also expressed optimism that the ceasefire would facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the affected people in Gaza. “We hope this agreement will assist in the increase of humanitarian support to those in dire need,” the statement added.
The spokesperson condemned the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli armed forces, which has resulted in significant loss of life and damage to property. “Countless innocent Palestinians have been displaced, and Israel’s expansionist ambitions have destabilized the entire region,” the spokesperson remarked.
Furthermore, Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for a just, comprehensive, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, stressing its commitment to advocating for the rights of Palestinians on the international stage.
It is worth noting that the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, which also includes the release of hostages, was announced by Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
