Pakistan Vows Tit-for-Tat Response to India’s Aggressive Moves

Dar Slams India for Baseless Allegations Over Pahalgam Attack

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly condemned India’s recent provocative actions, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the closure of diplomatic channels, pledging a “tit-for-tat” response. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar termed India’s announcements “inappropriate and immature,” declaring that a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting has been called for tomorrow to determine Pakistan’s official response.

Speaking to the media, Dar emphasized that India has failed to provide any credible evidence linking Pakistan to the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir. “India tends to shift the blame for its internal failures onto Pakistan. Their reaction to this incident shows clear immaturity and irresponsibility,” he said.

Dar affirmed that Pakistan would respond in kind to India’s actions, stating, “We will give a befitting, tit-for-tat reply.”

Meanwhile, Senator Faisal Vawda, in an interview with a private TV channel, expressed full national unity, asserting, “Pakistan comes first, everything else comes later.” He called for an emergency session under the National Action Plan and suggested that leaders from all political parties, including the PTI, be included to send a strong, unified message to the world. “There are no political differences when it comes to Pakistan’s sovereignty,” he said.

Vawda also criticized India’s narrative surrounding the Pahalgam attack, calling it “a staged drama,” and said even Western media outlets had begun to question India’s version of events. “If India makes a mistake, it will receive a crushing response,” he warned.

Separately, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed the NSC meeting for Thursday, stating that Pakistan’s political and military leadership will finalize a comprehensive response to India’s unilateral and aggressive measures.

Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours have sharply escalated following the attack in Pahalgam, which India has blamed on Pakistan without evidence. In response, India has not only suspended the Indus Waters Treaty but also closed the Wagah-Attari border and ordered Pakistani nationals to leave the country within 48 hours.

Pakistan maintains that such steps are not only unlawful but also a threat to regional peace and stability.
