Pakistan Voices Concern Over Rising Islamophobia in India

Pakistan called on India to fulfill its commitments to protect religious freedoms and uphold democratic values.

Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed serious concern over the increasing incidents of Islamophobia across India, urging New Delhi to ensure the rights and safety of all its citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs.

Responding to media queries, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan condemned the targeting of Muslims through hate speech, discriminatory practices, and alleged state complicity. He emphasized that such actions are alarming and have drawn concern from the international community.

“At a time when restraint and reconciliation are most needed, the deliberate incitement of religious hatred for political or ideological purposes is deeply troubling,” Khan stated. He added that these actions not only violate international human rights obligations but also undermine communal harmony and regional stability.
