Pakistan, US Launch Inspired Gambit–2026 Counterterrorism Exercise
Exercise Aims to Boost Interoperability Through Shared Counterterrorism Experience
RAWALPINDI: The 13th Pakistan–United States bilateral joint military exercise, Inspired Gambit–2026, commenced at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
The two-week exercise is being conducted in the counter-terrorism (CT) domain, with professional contingents from the armies of Pakistan and the United States participating. Officials from both sides attended the opening ceremony.
According to the ISPR, the exercise aims to enhance mutual understanding and interoperability through the sharing of counter-terrorism experiences, while further refining tactics, techniques and procedures required for effective CT operations.

Special emphasis is being placed on marksmanship skills in urban warfare environments, along with gaining insights into each other’s operational doctrines and best practices.
The military’s media wing said such joint training exercises are vital for addressing evolving security challenges, improving professional military standards, and strengthening the ability of both forces to operate in complex counter-terrorism scenarios.
The ISPR added that Inspired Gambit–2026 reflects the continued commitment of Pakistan and the United States to collaborative efforts in promoting regional and global peace and stability.
