Pakistan, US discuss counter-terrorism, flood relief, and peace efforts, reaffirming stronger bilateral relations under Trump’s leadership

Pak-US (Special Correspondent / Web Desk)- Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker on Thursday to discuss boosting cooperation in counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics and strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States.

US Envoy Offers Condolences Over Flood Losses

During the meeting, Ambassador Baker expressed deep sorrow over the lives lost in recent flash floods and heavy rains, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She conveyed condolences on behalf of the US government, saying, “Our heartfelt sympathies are with the families of the victims.”

She also congratulated Minister Naqvi on receiving the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, extending warm wishes for his continued service to the nation.

Naqvi Commends Trump’s Peace Efforts

Minister Naqvi praised former US President Donald Trump for taking genuine steps toward sustainable global peace. He noted that Trump “served humanity by preventing four potential wars, including one between Pakistan and India.”

Naqvi further hoped that ongoing American mediation efforts in the Russia-Ukraine war and the Gaza conflict would yield positive results, adding, “Pakistan welcomes every effort made for peace.”

Strengthening Pak-US Relations

Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of US-Pakistan ties. Naqvi highlighted that bilateral relations have grown closer under Trump’s leadership. Acting Ambassador Baker agreed, describing Pakistan as a valued partner and emphasising Washington’s commitment to stronger engagement with Islamabad.
