Pakistan & UAE Strengthen Bilateral Relations in Brussels Meeting

Dar emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to share its experience and expertise in various fields of peaceful nuclear technology.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are set to strengthen their bilateral relations further following a productive meeting between Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Almazrouel Suhail. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels, where both ministers discussed the current state and potential of their bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the ministers expressed their mutual desire to enhance Pakistan-UAE relations, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, focusing on renewable energy and transport sectors. Foreign Minister Dar commended the UAE’s role in climate diplomacy and highlighted the significance of COP-28 hosted by the UAE, which shed light on nuclear energy as a viable option for clean energy.

Minister Dar also emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to share its experience and expertise in various fields of peaceful nuclear technology, including nuclear reactor operations, safety, and regulatory infrastructure establishment. He expressed confidence that the conclusion of the Pakistan-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) would further boost bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

In response, Minister Suhail fondly recalled his visits to Pakistan and emphasized the longstanding family ties between the UAE and Pakistan. He reiterated the UAE’s commitment to being a development partner for Pakistan, underscoring the importance of collaboration between the two countries for mutual benefit.
