Pakistan to Receive Above Average Rainfall during Monsoon Season

Although the monsoon season has not yet started in India, the pre-monsoon effects there are influencing Pakistan’s weather, Abbas noted.

LAHORE: Pakistan may experience the onset of the monsoon season between June 27 and July 4, with expectations of more than normal rainfall in southern Sindh, including Karachi, according to Chief Meteorologist Shahid Abbas. However, this long-term forecast remains subject to change.

Chief Meteorologist Lahore, Shahid Abbas, has predicted heavier-than-usual monsoon rains this year. Speaking to a local TV channel, Abbas stated that monsoon rains will begin at the end of June, with rainfall levels anticipated to exceed the norm.

Meteorological experts also forecast the possibility of monsoon rains beginning in early July for Karachi. A meteorological analyst mentioned that a medium intensity low-pressure system is likely to develop over the North Arabian Sea by June 30. If this system forms, Karachi could see its first monsoon rains in the early days of July.
