Pakistan-(Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar, is travelling to Jeddah for a crucial meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). His main goal is to firmly reject Israel’s proposed plan to take full military control of the Gaza Strip.
At the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers session, Dar will advocate for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from all occupied Palestinian territories. He will emphasise the urgent need for uninterrupted humanitarian aid to reach civilians and reaffirm Pakistan’s strong support for the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state.
This diplomatic move comes amid intense Israeli military action. Israeli warplanes and tanks have been relentlessly pounding the outskirts of Gaza City. Witnesses report constant explosions in neighbourhoods like Zeitoun and Shejaia, causing panic and forcing more families to flee their homes.
The Israeli military confirmed its forces have returned to the Jabalia area in northern Gaza to strengthen its control. Defence leaders have vowed to press on with their offensive on Gaza City, which they call Hamas’s last major stronghold.
Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis deepens. A recent report confirms that famine is now present in Gaza City. The local health ministry states that at least 289 people, including 115 children, have died from malnutrition and starvation. Despite international alarm, the fighting and siege continue.
Hamas has stated that Israel’s plans for military control show it is not serious about a ceasefire. Negotiations for a temporary truce and a prisoner exchange remain stalled, leaving the fate of thousands of civilians hanging in the balance.
