Pakistan, Thailand Join Hands for Disaster Management

Islamabad(Staff Reporter); Pakistan, Thailand Join Hands for Disaster Management, A high-level delegation of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan recently visited Thailand to engage in collaborative discussions with their disaster management counterparts. The talks aimed to enhance disaster resilience across the region and share knowledge on disaster management and relief efforts.

Led by Chairman NDMA Lt General Inam Haider Malik, the Pakistani delegation actively participated in the 5th Board of Trustees meeting of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in Bangkok. The discussions centered around disaster risk reduction strategies and mutual cooperation, with a focus on anticipatory actions, joint simulation exercises, and partnerships with donors and financial institutions.

The NDMA chairman highlighted Pakistan’s efforts in implementing anticipatory actions and proposed joint simulation exercises specifically designed for search and rescue teams to enhance collaborative efforts. He also urged coordination between Pakistan and Thailand to secure resources for climate resilience projects.

The collaborative discussions between Pakistan and Thailand mark an important step towards enhancing disaster management capabilities in the region.
