ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has called on all parties involved in the Ukraine conflict to exercise restraint, take meaningful steps toward de-escalation, and work earnestly toward a ceasefire through sustained dialogue.
Delivering Pakistan’s statement at the United Nations Security Council, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad emphasized that protecting civilian lives and infrastructure must remain a top priority. He reiterated the importance of upholding international humanitarian law and noted that the conflict has no military solution.

Ambassador Ahmad urged all sides to demonstrate political will and engage in structured, result-oriented dialogue that addresses security concerns, adheres to the UN Charter and international law, and respects relevant multilateral agreements. He stressed that a ceasefire is the first necessary step in this process.
Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy, the Ambassador said the country will continue to support efforts aimed at resolving the conflict peacefully in a just, comprehensive, and durable manner.
