Pakistan Stands with Kashmir Asim Iftikhar Ahmad Calls for Peaceful Resolution of J&K Dispute
Pakistan Embassy in France Marks Kashmir Black Day with Seminar on Rights and Self-Determination
Kashmir-(Special Correspondent/Webdesk): The Embassy of Pakistan in France hosted a special seminar today in observance of Kashmir Black Day, expressing solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister were read, underscoring the nation’s continued support for the Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad addressed attendees, emphasizing that lasting peace in South Asia hinges on the peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute per United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. Reflecting on October 27, 1947, he described it as a tragic day when Indian forces entered J&K, suppressing the Kashmiris’ aspiration for self-determination and subjecting them to long-standing human rights violations.
The Ambassador reiterated that the right to self-determination is enshrined in the UN Charter and is affirmed by UNSC resolutions, which mandate a free and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices.
AJ&K Minister for Small Industries and Trade Kausar Taqdees Gillani also spoke, highlighting the hardships faced by Kashmiris, particularly women and children, under Indian forces. She urged the international community to adopt a unified stance aligned with UNSC resolutions to protect Kashmiri rights.
Several prominent speakers condemned India’s human rights abuses in IIOJK, calling for global media and international bodies to spotlight the plight of defenseless Kashmiris and hold India accountable for alleged war crimes and humanitarian violations in the region.
