Pakistan Says Iran‑US Talks Made Progress, Israel Attacked
Pakistan Claims Progress in Iran‑US Talks; Israel Strikes Iran Overnight
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – In Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said significant progress was made yesterday in efforts to revive Iran‑US negotiations, and that following this development, Israel launched a major assault. Speaking to the Senate, the Finance Minister explained that on March 29, foreign ministers from four nations met in Pakistan, and Pakistan also held talks with the Chinese Foreign Minister in Beijing at China’s invitation.
Dar noted that China and Pakistan reached agreement on five key points, which were publicly released by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He said the United States presented 15 points and Iran submitted 5 demands, all of which were communicated between the parties. The Foreign Minister revealed that “dangerous and important progress” was achieved in the Iran‑US dialogue yesterday, and Israel responded by attacking Iran overnight. In retaliation, Iran carried out a significant strike in Saudi Arabia.

He added that when Iran was attacked, he was in Medina, and that Pakistan was the only Muslim country to condemn the assault on Iran. Dar said he immediately phoned the Iranian Foreign Minister, and three to four hours later Iran began targeting Arab countries. He shared that China had also reached out to Japan, the UK, and Canada. The deputy prime minister expressed satisfaction that both Iran and the United States accepted Pakistan’s mediation role and noted that Pakistan also condemned Israel’s actions.
Dar concluded by saying the Prime Minister has offered to hold talks and that he would remind him to schedule a meeting with the opposition, emphasizing that the only reason it has not happened yet is the Prime Minister’s current commitments.
