Pakistan Rise to Second Place in World Test Championship After Win Over South Africa

Sri Lanka occupies the third position, followed by India in fourth and England in fifth.

Dubai: Pakistan have climbed to second place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 standings following a commanding victory in the first Test against South Africa.

According to the updated WTC standings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan now have 12 points with a 100% points percentage, placing them just behind Australia, who currently top the table.

Sri Lanka occupies the third position, followed by India in fourth and England in fifth. Bangladesh holds the sixth spot, while South Africa, after their recent loss to Pakistan, have slipped to seventh.

West Indies are in eighth place, and New Zealand remain at the bottom in ninth, having not played any matches in the current WTC cycle so far.

The win marks a strong start for Pakistan in their WTC 2025-27 campaign, as they aim to qualify for the final and possibly secure their maiden Test Championship title.
