Famous for her soulful voice, trend-setting style, and hit songs, she continues to live in the hearts of fans. Nazia was born on April 3, 1965, in Karachi and started singing at the age of 10. At only 15, she became a music legend with her first hit Aap Jaisa Koi in the Bollywood film Qurbani.

Alongside her brother, Zoheb Hassan, Nazia released a series of chart-topping albums that changed the face of Pakistani pop music. Their debut, Disco Deewane, broke sales records in more than a dozen countries. Follow-up hits like Boom Boom, Young Tarang, and Hotline cemented her place as Pakistan’s “Queen of Pop.”

By the time she stepped away from the spotlight, Nazia had sold around 6.5 million cassettes worldwide — an extraordinary feat for a South Asian artist in her time.

Nazia Hassan passed away on August 13, 2000, in London at the young age of 35 after battling lung cancer. Yet, her voice still lives on. From radio airwaves to digital playlists, her music continues to inspire and connect with fans across generations.
