Pakistan Rejects Aggressive Statements by Indian Leadership, Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Security
Highlighting Pakistan’s stance on regional relations, Baloch reiterated the country’s support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Islamabad – Pakistan has firmly rejected recent aggressive statements made by the Indian leadership, as stated by Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during a weekly press briefing.
Baloch emphasized that Pakistan finds the statements baseless and contrary to the facts, reaffirming the country’s readiness to address any threats to its security and territorial integrity. She also mentioned that Pakistan has communicated its concerns regarding the situation on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border to the Afghan authorities.
Highlighting Pakistan’s stance on regional relations, Baloch reiterated the country’s support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. She also noted Pakistan’s strong fraternal ties with Iran, underscored by recent agreements signed during the Iranian President’s visit. Among these agreements, the declaration of Gwadar and Chabahar as sister ports stands out. Baloch clarified that Pakistan does not react to issues between India and Iran.
In terms of economic and developmental initiatives, Baloch provided updates on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), mentioning the focus on development, expansion, employment, and green corridors in its second phase. Additionally, she highlighted the recent sixth round of Pakistan-UK talks on arms control and non-proliferation, which covered global and regional security, the peaceful use of new technologies, the military application of artificial intelligence, and the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
Baloch also discussed discussions on matters related to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). She affirmed Pakistan’s strong support for the United Nations General Assembly resolution to grant full membership to Palestine.
Addressing the ongoing humanitarian issues in Kashmir, Baloch highlighted the suffering of families in the region, noting that thousands of Kashmiri women have lost their husbands to violence by Indian forces.

Lastly, Baloch announced that Ishaq Dar will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Kazakhstan on May 20, and that the Secretary-General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) will be visiting Pakistan soon.
These statements reflect Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to regional security, diplomatic relations, and addressing humanitarian concerns.
