Pakistan Ready to Respond If War Imposed, Says Defence Minister Khawaja Asif
Pakistan is determined to expose what he called India’s false narrative surrounding the Pulwama attack.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has clarified that he did not advocate for war but emphasized that the threat still looms. “If war is imposed on us, we will give a befitting reply,” he said, stressing that his recent interview remarks were being misinterpreted.
Addressing media reports, Asif explained that he was asked about the possibility of conflict and noted that the coming two to three days would be crucial. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace but underlined the readiness of the armed forces to defend the country.
The minister criticized India for failing to respond to Pakistan’s call for an impartial investigation into the Pulwama incident. He rejected India’s accusations as baseless and urged New Delhi to permit an international inquiry to uncover the truth.

“As both countries have their troops deployed along the borders, Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend every inch of our homeland,” Asif asserted.
