Pakistan railways to outsource 22 passenger trains under public-private partnership

Security deposits for the trains have been categorized, with A category trains requiring Rs 5 million and B category trains requiring Rs 2 million.

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has announced plans to outsource the operation of 22 passenger trains under a public-private partnership model to enhance passenger services and efficiency.

According to railway officials, the trains to be outsourced include prominent services such as the Karakoram Express, Green Line, Hazara Express, Karachi Express, and Shalimar Express. Additionally, the Bolan Mail, the sole passenger train running from Quetta to Karachi will also operate under this new model.

The initiative aims to provide improved facilities to passengers. An official advertisement has been released, inviting applications for the outsourcing process, with a submission deadline set for 11 am on August 1.
