Pakistan Railways Announces 10% Fare Reduction

Pakistan Railways has announced a 10% fare reduction, effective September 23. This discount will be applicable to all air-conditioned classes of express and mail trains, as well as economy classes on passenger trains.

Additionally, the railway authority is moving forward with a plan to operate 10 passenger trains through a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The initial phase of this initiative is set to launch soon, featuring trains such as the Karachi Express, Awam Express, and Hazara Express.

Interested companies are encouraged to submit applications, with technical bids to be reviewed on the same day. Furthermore, Pakistan Railways has confirmed the revival of the Sir Syed Express, which will begin operations on September 1, connecting Karachi Cantt. and Rawalpindi. This series of updates reflects a significant effort to enhance rail services and affordability for passengers.
