Pakistan Positions Itself as Key Diplomatic Bridge in Iran Tensions

Washington, D.C. (Web Desk) –  Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has highlighted the country’s ongoing diplomatic outreach aimed at reducing tensions linked to the recent situation involving Iran. He emphasized that Pakistan is playing a constructive and supportive role in encouraging dialogue.

Speaking during an interview on NBC’s prominent program Meet the Press, the ambassador shed light on the recent ceasefire developments, as well as continued discussions currently being hosted in Islamabad. He pointed out that Pakistan has been actively involved in facilitating communication between concerned parties.

He explained that intensive diplomatic contacts at senior levels helped pave the way for the ceasefire and opened doors for further negotiations. According to him, Pakistan continues its tradition of promoting peaceful engagement through dialogue and cooperation.

Rizwan Saeed Sheikh also noted that these efforts are being reinforced by several important regional countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey, along with broader international support.

Discussing the talks underway in Islamabad, he said the atmosphere remains positive and forward-looking. He expressed hope that continued engagement and mutual understanding would eventually lead to lasting solutions.

“Pakistan’s role is to facilitate the process,” he remarked, making it clear that final decisions rest with the directly involved parties.

He concluded by stressing that both Pakistan and global stakeholders are committed to peace, adding that diplomacy must be given every possible chance to succeed during this sensitive time.
