Islamabad: The much-anticipated T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand is all set to commence today, with the first match scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi.
Both teams geared up with rigorous practice sessions ahead of the series kick-off. A ceremony unveiling the series trophy took place recently, graced by Pakistani captain Babar Azam and Kiwi skipper Michael Bracewell.
Speaking to the media, Kiwi captain Michael Bracewell expressed his commitment to providing opportunities to young players and aiming for a stellar performance against Pakistan.
Pakistan’s cricket team captain Babar Azam stated in a press conference his intention to give all players a chance before the upcoming World Cup. He highlighted the rigorous fitness regime post-PSL and the strengthened batting lineup with the addition of Shadab and Imad to the team.

The initial three matches of the T20 series will take place at Rawalpindi Stadium, while the remaining two matches are scheduled for Lahore. Geo Super will broadcast the matches live, bringing the action straight to the fans’ screens.

For the first one-day encounter, the Pakistan team lineup includes Muneeba Ali, Sidra Ameen, Bismah Maroof, captain Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana, Nashra Sandhu, Tuba Hassan, Diana Baig, Nida Dar, and Sadiya Iqbal.
This series, comprising three one-day matches, is part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
