State Bank Prepares to Introduce Pakistan’s Newly Designed Banknotes

Islamabad: (Web Desk) – Pakistan is moving closer to introducing newly designed currency notes, with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) confirming that preparations are in their final stages, on Tuesday. SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad said during a press conference following the latest monetary policy announcement that the design and preparatory work for the new banknotes is nearly complete.

Once formally approved by the federal cabinet, the central bank will begin printing two to three denominations simultaneously, though officials have not yet disclosed which values will be introduced first. The new designs have already been reviewed internally and forwarded to the government, after which a special cabinet committee was formed to evaluate the proposals.
