Pakistan, China launch SEA GUARDIAN naval exercise to boost ties

RAWALPINDI: (Web Desk) –  The Pakistan Navy warmly welcomed a warship from the People’s Liberation Army Navy as it arrived to participate in the fourth edition of the bilateral exercise SEA GUARDIAN, scheduled from March 25 to April 2, 2026.

The visiting PLA Navy Ship DAQING was received with a ceremonial welcome and escorted into port by Pakistan Navy vessels, showcasing traditional maritime hospitality.

The SEA GUARDIAN exercise is designed to strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and China through the exchange of professional expertise and improved interoperability between their naval forces. The initiative reflects both countries’ shared commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The exercise will include a variety of activities during both harbour and sea phases. These include expert-level discussions, a seminar for young officers on contemporary maritime issues, as well as operational drills such as gunnery exercises, coordinated patrols, and maritime security operations.

The SEA GUARDIAN series highlights the strong strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and is expected to further enhance collaboration while contributing to a secure maritime environment.
