Pakistan Navy Strengthens Fleet With Induction of PNS Khaibar Corvette
Karachi: (Web Desk) – Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, highlighted the significance of a modern, well-balanced, and technologically equipped naval force during the commissioning ceremony of Pakistan Navy’s second MILGEM-class corvette, PNS Khaibar.
While addressing the audience, the Naval Chief noted that Pakistan’s strategic position along key maritime trade and energy routes makes it essential to maintain a strong naval presence. He stressed that safeguarding Sea Lines of Communication remains vital for protecting national economic and security interests.
Referring to past operational readiness, he stated that during Marka-e-Haq, the Pakistan Navy maintained a high level of preparedness, compelling the Indian Navy to remain within defensive positions. He added that the professionalism and execution of naval operations during that period demonstrated Pakistan’s capability to respond effectively to any maritime threat.

The Naval Chief further emphasized that the Navy continues to enhance its capabilities through the induction of advanced platforms and specialized technologies. These developments are aimed at strengthening the ability to respond to emerging threats, including targeting critical infrastructure and adversary naval assets when required.
He described the addition of PNS Khaibar, along with the upcoming Hangor-class submarines, as a major step forward in the Navy’s modernization efforts. These platforms, he said, will significantly improve operational readiness, combat effectiveness, and strategic reach.
Concluding his remarks, Admiral Naveed Ashraf extended his best wishes to the crew of PNS Khaibar and reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to defending the country’s maritime boundaries and ensuring security across its sea frontiers.
