Farhan to Lead Pakistan in Asian Games 2026 Cricket Event
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistan have unveiled their 15-member squad for the men’s cricket competition at the Asian Games 2026, with experienced batter Sahibzada Farhan entrusted with the captaincy. The tournament’s T20 format matches are set to commence on September 24 in Aichi, Japan, while the gold-medal contest is scheduled for October 3.
According to reports, Abdul Samad has been appointed vice-captain of the side. Farhan, 30, brings considerable experience to the role, having featured in 46 T20 Internationals for Pakistan and amassed 1,305 runs, including two centuries and 10 half-centuries.
The squad features a blend of established performers and promising young talent. Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Maaz Sadaqat and Saad Masood are among the emerging players who could earn their maiden T20 International appearances during the competition.
Fourteen members of the selected squad will also participate in the National Cricket Academy’s white-ball training camp, which begins in Lahore on June 15 as part of preparations for upcoming assignments.

Pakistan’s squad comprises Sahibzada Farhan (captain), Abdul Samad (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Saad Masood, Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem and Usman Khan.
