Pakistan NA Speaker to Attend Khaleda Zia’s Funeral in Bangladesh

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is now set to attend both the state and family funeral ceremonies on behalf of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, will no longer visit Bangladesh as scheduled due to a busy official agenda, here on Tuesday.

Instead, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will represent Pakistan at the funeral of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, who had been suffering from a prolonged illness.

Sources said that during an earlier visit to Bangladesh, Ishaq Dar had personally called on Khaleda Zia at her residence to inquire about her health when she was critically ill.
