Pakistan loses opening match of FIH Pro League

Pakistan will now face Argentina in their next match on December 12.

ISLAMABAD: In the opening group match of the FIH Pro Hockey League, Pakistan suffered a defeat against the Netherlands.

The Dutch team beat Pakistan 5–2. Pakistan’s two goals were scored by Hanan Shahid and Sufyan Khan.

Pakistan started the match strongly, with Hanan Shahid giving his side the lead through a brilliant drive from the left. In the second quarter, Sufyan Khan doubled the lead with a goal off a penalty corner.

However, the Netherlands gradually took full control and dominated the final 15 minutes, leaving Pakistan with no chance to recover.

The Player of the Match, Netherlands’ Tjemen Reyenga, said that although it took his team some time to settle into the game, they improved steadily and eventually secured three valuable points.

He added that the team was unsure how Pakistan would perform, but they adapted well and managed to capitalize on the situation.

Pakistan will now face Argentina in their next match on December 12.
