Pakistan Likely to Host the Entire Bangladesh Series in Faisalabad
Faisalabad Pushes for Hosting Pakistan-Bangladesh Series
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to make a bold move ahead of its upcoming clash with Bangladesh by reportedly hosting the entire series in Faisalabad, according to Jang News. This decision marks a departure from the traditional practice of dividing series fixtures across multiple venues.
By centralizing the series in Faisalabad—a city known for its passionate cricket following—the PCB likely aims to generate heightened local interest and provide fans with an immersive international experience. The move is expected not only to streamline logistics but also to create a festive atmosphere, with local businesses and communities poised to benefit from an influx of supporters and media coverage.
The Bangladesh-Pakistan limited-overs series will follow the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League, meaning that more established stadiums in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Multan will have exhausted significant resources, leaving Faisalabad as the perfect alternative venue.
Faisalabad itself is making a strong case for hosting the Pakistan-Bangladesh series during the ongoing National T20 Cup, where the city is hosting a record number of matches, including all the knockouts and the final.
The return of international fixtures will also be a major relief for the city, which last hosted an international game in 2008—ironically, that match was also between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
