ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday launched its final polio vaccination campaign of 2025, aiming to reach 45 million children nationwide.
The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) reported that over 23 million children in Punjab will receive polio drops, while more than 16 million children in Sindh are set to be vaccinated. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 7.2 million children will be covered, and approximately 2.6 million children in Balochistan will receive the drops.
The campaign will also cover over 460,000 children in Islamabad, more than 228,000 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 760,000 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

So far in 2025, Pakistan has reported 30 polio cases. The virus, which is incurable and highly infectious, can cause lifelong paralysis but can be prevented through repeated oral vaccinations and routine immunization.
This campaign follows a nationwide measles, rubella, and polio vaccination drive conducted from November 17–29, which targeted 22.9 million children across 89 high-risk districts.
