Pakistan Introduces Fast-Track Passport Service for 48-Hour Delivery

The Directorate offers three categories for passport processing: normal, urgent, and fast track

LAHORE: The Directorate General of Immigration and Passport has announced a new fast-track service, allowing applicants to receive their passport within just 48 hours. This service aims to cater to individuals requiring urgent travel documents, providing an expedited process for those in need of quick passport issuance.

The Directorate offers three categories for passport processing: normal, urgent, and fast track. Each category comes with varying delivery times and associated fees. Under the normal category, passports are typically issued within 21 working days. The urgent category expedites this process, with passports delivered in just five days. However, the fast-track service promises delivery in only two working days, making it the most efficient option for those in a hurry.

As of December 2024, the fee structure for the fast-track category is significantly higher than the other two. For a 36-page passport with five-year validity, the fee is Rs 12,500, while a 10-year passport costs Rs 16,200. The fee for a 72-page passport with five years of validity is set at Rs 18,500, while the 10-year validity version is priced at Rs 25,200. For those opting for a 100-page passport with a 10-year validity, the cost is Rs 32,000.
