Pakistan, Indonesia Vow to Deepen Defence Cooperation

The interaction is seen as an important step toward boosting defence and security cooperation

Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, met with the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, in Islamabad on Monday.

According to ISPR, the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security, and avenues to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding military ties between Pakistan and Indonesia.

President Subianto praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s significant contributions toward regional peace and stability. Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized that Pakistan highly values its historic relationship with Indonesia and remains committed to expanding collaboration, particularly in the areas of training, counter-terrorism, and capacity building.
