Pakistan will face England in the final of FIH World Cup 2026 Qualifiers tomorrow at 11pm (PKT)

The Pakistan men’s national field hockey team has qualified for the 2026 Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup after eight years, securing their place with a thrilling victory in the qualifiers.

In the semi-final of the World Cup qualifiers, Pakistan defeated Japan men’s national field hockey team by 4–3 in a highly competitive and dramatic match to reach the final.

Goals for Pakistan were scored by Muhammad Imad, Abubakar Mahmood, Sufyan Khan, and Afraz, with each player contributing one goal. Muhammad Imad was declared Player of the Match for his outstanding performance against Japan.

Pakistan remained unbeaten throughout the qualifier round, reaching the final with a series of impressive victories.

PHF announces hockey team management for World Cup

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, congratulated the national hockey team on qualifying for the World Cup. He praised the players for their teamwork, dedication, and excellent performance during the tournament.

President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Mohyuddin Wani, and Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board, Yasir Pirzada, also extended their congratulations to the team.

Former Olympians Islahuddin Siddiquee, Hasan Sardar, and Samiullah Khan expressed their happiness and best wishes for the national team’s success in the upcoming World Cup.

With this victory, Pakistan has officially secured its place in the 2026 Hockey World Cup.
