Pakistan, Google Launch AI Seekho 2026 Program

Government and Google Launch AI Skills Program for Youth

Islamabad: (Web Desk) –  The Government of Pakistan, in collaboration with Google for Developers, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom (MoITT), Telenor, and Innovista, has launched the nationwide initiative “AI Seekho 2026” to strengthen artificial intelligence skills among young professionals and developers.

The program is designed to help Pakistan’s youth transition toward a digital and innovation-driven economy by providing free access to advanced AI learning resources. It introduces a modern concept called “vibe coding,” which allows participants to build applications using natural language and AI-assisted tools instead of traditional programming methods. Training will be delivered through platforms such as Google AI Studio and Google Antigravity.

Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima stated that Pakistan aims to shift from a traditional service-based economy to a product- and AI-driven economy. She emphasized that with a large youth population, AI education is now a national priority to equip professionals across multiple fields, including technology, healthcare, law, and creative industries, with future-ready digital skills.

From Google, Farhan Qureshi, Cluster Director for Pakistan and Frontier Markets, highlighted the company’s commitment to Pakistan’s digital ecosystem. He noted that initiatives like AI Seekho will help expand local talent capacity and strengthen Pakistan’s position in global freelancing, gaming, and technology markets.

The program follows a structured “Learn, Build, Win” model. In Phase 1, participants will complete an online challenge focused on generative AI and app prototyping, submitting projects under categories such as app development or game creation. Phase 2 will involve physical hackathons in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, where shortlisted participants will develop real-world solutions using advanced AI tools, competing for prizes worth PKR 2.5 million along with other rewards.

Organizers say the initiative is supported by a strong ecosystem of developers and experts, with free cloud access and training support aimed at scaling AI adoption across the country. The program encourages innovation, practical learning, and global competitiveness for Pakistan’s emerging tech talent.
