Pakistani Ambassador Visits MGIMO to Boost Academic Ties

ISLAMABAD:(Web Desk) – The Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation, H.E. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, paid an official visit on Tuesday to the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University), which operates under the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow.

During the visit, Ambassador Tirmizi met with MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between MGIMO and leading Pakistani universities and think tanks, particularly in the areas of education, research and academic collaboration.

Both parties expressed strong interest in expanding academic exchanges, initiating joint research projects, and organizing scientific and cultural activities to deepen institutional linkages between Pakistan and Russia.

As part of the visit, Ambassador Tirmizi also held an interactive question-and-answer session with Russian students studying Pakistan and the broader South Asian region. He appreciated the students for their impressive command of the Urdu language and their keen interest in Pakistan’s history, culture and foreign policy.

The engagement took place in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reaffirming the mutual commitment of Pakistan and Russia to further enhance bilateral cooperation in academic and scientific domains.
