Paris: In a heartwarming celebration of women’s achievements and empowerment, the Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with Zonta International Paris orchestrated a special event commemorating International Women’s Day. The event, which drew a diverse crowd including diplomats, government officials, UNESCO representatives, civil society members, and media, showcased the pivotal role of women in Pakistan’s history and their ongoing contributions to national development.
Ambassador, Permanent Delegate Asim Iftikhar Ahmad eloquently emphasized the indelible mark women have left on Pakistan’s journey to independence and progress. He paid tribute to their extraordinary accomplishments across various domains and underscored Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment. Highlighting the profound significance of education, the Ambassador emphasized collaborative efforts with civil society to foster shared objectives.
A captivating presentation spotlighting the achievements of Pakistani women throughout history reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast dedication to advancing women empowerment and gender equality. Assistant Director-General for Education Ms. Stefania Giannini shed light on UNESCO’s global initiatives, including the Malala Funds in Trust Girls’ Right to Education Program, as a beacon of successful collaboration promoting girls’ education.
The event also featured insightful remarks from the President of the Zonta Club, emphasizing the organization’s vision and activities in advocating for the education, visibility, and promotion of women and girls. Recorded video messages from prominent figures such as Ms. Sania Nishtar, CEO of GAVI, and Ms. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, further underscored the significance of the occasion.
