Pakistan Eases Into Final of Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship
Japan tried to rally but couldn’t break Pakistan’s rhythm, and by halftime, the Green Shirts had extended their advantage to 34-19.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s young netball stars have carved their names into the tournament’s history books after sealing a place in the final of the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025 with a convincing 64-39 win over Japan in the semifinal.
Playing at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea, the Pakistani squad was quick to stamp their authority in another ruthless display. They exploded out of the blocks, taking a commanding 21-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Japan tried to rally but couldn’t break Pakistan’s rhythm, and by halftime, the Green Shirts had extended their advantage to 34-19.
The third quarter saw Japan pushing hard to narrow the gap, yet Pakistan held firm to maintain a 42-28 lead. In the final stretch, the girls turned on the style, piling on the points and shutting down any hopes of a Japanese comeback.
Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq, Amani, Parisa, and Farah Rasheed were all instrumental in the victory, combining sharp shooting, smart passing, and rock-solid defence.

This has been a tournament to remember for Pakistan, who began their campaign with a huge 71-15 win over Saudi Arabia. They then beat Chinese Taipei 56-32, crushed hosts South Korea 91-6, and defeated Japan once already in the group stage, 79-39.
The team will now prepare for their toughest test yet, as they wait to find out who they will meet in Friday’s Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship final. The second semifinal will take place between Maldives and Chinese Taipei.
With confidence sky-high and momentum on their side, Pakistan’s girls are now just one match away from bringing home the title and inspiring a new generation of netball players back home
