Pakistan Culture Week inaugurated at Dujiangyan, China
Sister city ties between Murree, Chinese city of Dujiangyan
DUJIANGYAN (Web Desk)_ A “Pakistan Cultural Week in Sichuan” was inaugurated in Dujiangyan, a famous touristic city located in Sichuan province, China Being held from May 18 to 24 2023, the event is part of series of activities planned for the ongoing Year of China-Pakistan Tourism Exchanges and 10th anniversary of the establishment of Belt and Road Anniversary. It has been jointly organized by Pakistan Consulate General Chengdu, Sichuan People’s Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries (SIFA) and Municipal Government of Dujiangyan.
The cultural week was officially inaugurated by Ambassador Moin ul Haque along with Mr. Hong Liu, President of SIGA and Mr. Zhang Yadan, Mayor of Dujiangyan.

Speaking on the occasion Ambassador Moin ul Haque highlighted the time-tested nature of China-Pakistan friendship, which has been a pride of generations of people of both countries. Underlining the importance of people-to-people and cultural exchanges, he briefed the audience about Pakistan’s rich history, scenic beauty and cultural heritage and invited them to visit and explore Pakistan in the ongoing Year of Tourism Exchanges.
Pakistani city of Murree and the Chinese city of Dujiangyan on Friday signed a letter of Intent for establishment of sister city ties.

The move comes in a bid to further cement people-to-people exchanges and enhance practical cooperation.
The singing ceremony was held in the famous Lidui Park of Dujiangyan. Murree was represented by Ambassador Moin ul Haque, while Mayor Zhang Yadan, signed on behalf of Dujiangyan.
The cooperation agreement has been especially envisaged keeping in view the picturesque setting of the two cities amidst green hills and their touristic strengths. The experience sharing of Dujiangyan of hosting and managing more than 30 million tourists annually would help the city of Murree in its own plans to manage large inflows of visitors and upgrade its tourism infrastructure as well.
Establishment of the latest sister city ties will also augment the already strong people-to-people ties existing through more than 40 sister province and sister city agreements between various regions and cities of China and Pakistan.
