Young talent Abhishek Sharma remains on top in global T20I batter rankings for India

DUBAI: Pakistan’s cricketers made a big impact in the latest ICC T20I rankings after a strong performance in their recent three-match series against the West Indies.

Hassan, Saim, and Farhan Make Big Gains

Middle-order batter Hassan Nawaz jumped 24 places to reach 30th with 569 rating points, thanks to a solid showing with 79 runs in the series.

Top-order batter Saim Ayub, who led the series with 130 runs including two half-centuries, climbed 25 places to claim 37th position with 559 points.

Opening batter Sahibzada Farhan also impressed, scoring 91 runs and rising 34 spots to take the 63rd place with 484 rating points.

Captain and Seniors Improve Slightly

Captain Salman Ali Agha and senior player Fakhar Zaman saw small gains, moving up 15 and 3 places to reach 76th and 78th, respectively.

Babar and Rizwan Slip Due to Inactivity

Top players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan dropped three places each, mainly due to inactivity in T20Is since 2024. Babar is now at 17th, and Rizwan sits at 19th.

Haris Struggles, Drops in Rankings

Wicket keeper-batter Mohammad Haris had a tough series, which led to a fall of 21 places. He now holds the 86th spot with 413 points.

India’s Abhishek Sharma Still on Top

India’s young star Abhishek Sharma retained his top position among T20I batters. He is followed by Australia’s Travis Head in second, and fellow Indian Tilak Varma in third place.

No Pakistani bowler features in the top 20. However, Haris Rauf held on to his 26th position with 575 points, while Abbas Afridi slipped to 27th after dropping three places.

There was a huge jump for left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, who leaped 69 places to claim 34th with 542 points.

Shaheen Afridi dropped one spot to 36th, and Mohammad Nawaz climbed 51 places to take 56th with 489 points.

Meanwhile, Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan fell to 60th and 72nd, respectively.

Top Bowlers: New Zealand, England, West Indies Lead

New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy remains the number one T20I bowler, followed by England’s Adil Rashid. West Indies’ Akeal Hosein moved up to third, pushing India’s Varun Chakaravarthy to fourth.

All-Rounders: Saim Ayub Makes a Big Move

In the all-rounder rankings, Shadab Khan dropped two spots to 19th. But rising star Saim Ayub made a massive leap, climbing 70 places to 24th with 119 points.

Mohammad Nawaz rose 13 places to 36th, while Abbas Afridi dropped four to land at 56th.

Iftikhar Ahmed dropped six places to 70th, and Faheem Ashraf gained five places, now at 77th with 58 points.

India’s Hardik Pandya continues to lead the T20I all-rounders rankings, followed by Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee in second, and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi in third.
