Pakistan Confronts Afghan Taliban Over Terror Support in Istanbul Talks

Sources said that the Pakistani delegation firmly rejected the Taliban’s stance

ISLAMABAD (News Desk) — During crucial talks held in Istanbul, Pakistan’s delegation has presented its final position to the Afghan Taliban, declaring that continued support and sheltering of terrorists by the Taliban regime is “unacceptable.”

According to security sources, the Pakistani side demanded “concrete and verifiable measures” from the Taliban government to eliminate cross-border terrorism originating from and operating within Afghanistan.

Sources said that the Pakistani delegation firmly rejected the Taliban’s stance, terming their arguments “illogical and contrary to ground realities.”

“It appears that the Taliban are pursuing someone else’s agenda — one that is not in the interest of Afghanistan’s stability, nor of Pakistan or the wider region,” the sources added.
