Pakistan Completes Clean Sweep Against Bangladesh in T20 Series

LAHORE: In the final match of the three-match T20 series, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets to complete a clean sweep. The thrilling encounter took place in Lahore, where Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first.

Bangladesh posted a competitive total of 196 runs for 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a strong opening partnership of 110 runs between Pruvez Hossain, who scored 66, and Tanzid Hasan, who contributed 42 runs. However, the middle order failed to build on this strong foundation. Liton Das scored 22 and Towhid Hridoy added 25 runs, but Bangladesh’s innings ended at 196/6.

On the bowling side, Hasan Ali was impressive, taking 2 wickets for 38 runs, while Abbas Afridi also claimed 2 wickets, conceding 26 runs.

Chasing 197, Pakistan lost Sahibzada Farhan early in the first over, but Mohammad Haris and Saif Ayub steadily increased the run rate. Saif Ayub played aggressively, smashing four sixes and finishing with 45 runs off 29 balls. Hasan Nawaz also made a valuable contribution with 26 runs off just 13 balls.

Mohammad Haris scored his maiden T20 century, becoming the first Pakistani batsman to make a century batting outside the opener’s position in T20 internationals. He powered Pakistan to victory in the 18th over with 3 wickets down.
