Pakistan, China Reaffirm Commitment to Deepen Strategic Partnership

During his visit, Ishaq Dar is also set to co-chair the seventh round of the China–Pakistan Strategic Dialogue

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership during a high-level meeting held in Beijing on Saturday.

The meeting took place between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and China’s Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang. Both leaders emphasized the importance of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and agreed to use the milestone to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang appreciated Pakistan’s continued support for China on matters of core national interest and extended New Year greetings to the Pakistani leadership and people.

During his visit, Ishaq Dar is also set to co-chair the seventh round of the China–Pakistan Strategic Dialogue, which will take place over two days in Beijing. The dialogue will review the entire scope of bilateral relations, explore new avenues of cooperation, and further advance the strategic partnership between the two nations.

The deputy prime minister will additionally attend events marking the start of the 75th year of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties. Both countries plan to hold a series of initiatives and commemorative activities throughout the year to celebrate the longstanding relationship.
