Islamabad, June 15, 2025 — In response to the evolving regional situation, the Government of Pakistan has initiated measures to ensure the safety and well-being of Pakistani nationals currently in Iran and Iraq, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar announced on Saturday.

The government has successfully facilitated the evacuation of 450 Pakistani zaireen from Iran as of yesterday. Additionally, arrangements are underway to evacuate Pakistani students from Iran, with the first batch of 154 students set to be repatriated soon.

In Iraq, Pakistani pilgrims stranded due to the ongoing closure of airspace are receiving support from the Pakistani Embassy. Authorities are actively working to ensure their safety, proper accommodation, and eventual evacuation.

To manage the ongoing situation, the Foreign Office has activated a 24/7 Crisis Management Unit (CMU) to assist Pakistani citizens in affected areas. The CMU can be reached via phone at +92 51-9207887 or by email at cmu1@mofa.gov.pk.

“Our embassies across the region are in close coordination with local authorities to provide all necessary assistance to Pakistani nationals and zaireen,” Senator Dar said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to protecting its citizens abroad.

The Foreign Ministry continues to monitor developments and will provide further updates as necessary.
