Pakistan battle Bangladesh today with series victory at stake

Pakistan aims to bounce back as Bangladesh leads ODI series 1–0

Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the second ODI today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. The series is still up for grabs after Pakistan struggled in the first match.

Bangladesh leads the three-match series 1–0 after winning the opening game convincingly. Pakistan gave four players their ODI debut: Sahibzada Farhan, Maaz Sadaqat, Shamyl Hussain, and Abdul Samad. But the batting lineup collapsed against Nahid Rana’s fiery bowling. Rana took five wickets for just 24 runs, his best figures yet.

Pakistan set a low target of only 115 runs. Bangladesh reached it easily on the first ball of the 16th over. For Pakistan, Faheem Ashraf scored the most with 37 runs. Sahibzada Farhan added 27, and Maaz Sadaqat made 18.

Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan played an impressive unbeaten knock of 67 runs to guide his team to victory. Najmul Hossain Shanto also added 27 runs to the total.

From Pakistan’s bowling side, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr. claimed one wicket each.

Pakistan will now look to bounce back in the second ODI and level the series.
