Pakistan Arrests 10 Alleged RAW Agents

“All four suspects are residents of Sujawal district and have crossed the Indian border more than 20 times,” Memon stated.

Lahore/Karachi — In a major counterterrorism breakthrough, the Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested six Pakistani nationals allegedly working as facilitators for India’s intelligence agency, RAW (Research and Analysis Wing), under an operation codenamed ‘Operation Yalghar’.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Additional Inspector General (IG) Punjab CTD, Shahzada Sultan, confirmed that the arrests disrupted a foreign-sponsored terror plot aimed at destabilizing regions of southern Punjab, particularly Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.

“This operation is a significant achievement against the growing threats of foreign-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan,” Sultan stated.

RAW Facilitators and Indian Spies Arrested

According to CTD officials, one RAW facilitator was apprehended in Bahawalpur, while two Indian spies were arrested from Bahawalnagar. The suspects were reportedly planning attacks on mosques and railway stations, with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) set to be used in the attacks.

Audio recordings of two Indian intelligence officers, identified as Major Ravindra and Inspector Singh, were recovered during the operation. Major Ravindra allegedly delivered IEDs to the facilitators near the Pakistan-India border.

“The mosque was to be specifically targeted with IEDs,” a CTD official said.

Sophisticated Funding Through Cryptocurrency

The investigation revealed that the planned attacks were being financed through cryptocurrency channels and branchless banking platforms, pointing to a well-organized financial network backing the operatives. Additional IG Sultan confirmed that digital platforms were used to funnel money into Pakistan for carrying out subversive acts.

CTD also linked recent terrorist attacks in Mianwali and Dera Ghazi Khan to funding and support from Afghanistan, with RAW allegedly collaborating with Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) elements.

Karachi Operation: Four RAW Agents Arrested

Meanwhile, in Karachi, law enforcement agencies and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested four operatives linked to RAW. Speaking at a separate press conference, SSP Shoaib Memon revealed that the suspects were in direct contact with Indian Army Colonel Ranjit.

“All four suspects are residents of Sujawal district and have crossed the Indian border more than 20 times,” Memon stated.

Authorities recovered explosives, weapons, and a vehicle from the suspects, who were allegedly sharing geotagged photographs and sensitive information about military installations with handlers across the border.

Cases under anti-state and espionage charges have been registered, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle the broader network and identify more accomplices.

Pakistan to Raise Issue Internationally

Additional IG Shahzada Sultan emphasized that all suspects arrested under Operation Yalghar are Pakistani citizens. He also clarified that no link has yet been established between the Punjab-based RAW network and the one dismantled in Karachi.

“As a responsible state, Pakistan will raise this issue at international forums to expose India’s direct involvement in terrorism on Pakistani soil,” Sultan asserted.

These developments underscore growing concerns over foreign intelligence operations and their alleged attempts to destabilize Pakistan through local proxies and digital warfare.
