Pakistan Army Conducts Timely and Effective Relief Operations in Nikyal Sector

The nation once again expresses pride in its protectors.

Kotli, (Shaukat Ali Malik) – The Pakistan Army carried out swift and effective relief operations in the Nikyal sector following heavy snowfall that blocked key roads and left numerous citizens stranded in harsh weather conditions.

Continuous snowfall had obstructed the main road connecting Kotli to Nikyal at multiple points, causing vehicles to be immobilized and leaving families and individuals exposed to extreme cold with limited access to essential supplies.
Responding promptly, the Pakistan Army launched relief efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected. On January 23, at around 8:22 PM, a Lieutenant Colonel, accompanied by another officer and troops, proceeded to the Peer Nasora point, where several vehicles were trapped under heavy snow.

An Army vehicle carrying critical relief supplies—including food items, clean drinking water, hot tea, juices, and petrol—reached the stranded individuals despite difficult terrain and adverse weather. Families, particularly women, children, and the elderly, were safely evacuated to secure locations after receiving immediate assistance.

A civil rescue team from Kotli also joined the operation, demonstrating effective coordination between military and civil authorities. Thanks to these joint efforts, the Kotli–Nikyal road was fully cleared of snow, reopened to traffic, and normal movement was restored.
