Pakistan and Uzbekistan Sign 28 Agreements, Pledge Deeper Cooperation
Pakistan and Uzbekistan have signed twenty eight agreements and memoranda of understanding across a wide range of sectors, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the President of Uzbekistan also signed a joint declaration to further strengthen bilateral ties.
The signing ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s House, where both sides agreed to enhance cooperation between their foreign ministries and expand collaboration in multiple fields. Agreements were concluded to establish an inter regional forum, facilitate the exchange of convicted prisoners, and promote cooperation in information technology and pharmaceuticals.
An additional agreement was signed to prevent the smuggling of narcotics between the two countries. Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan Uzbekistan relations are built on mutual respect, trust, and shared interests, and reaffirmed his commitment to working together for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. He also thanked Uzbekistan for its support on the issues of Kashmir and Palestine, emphasizing Pakistan’s belief in collective efforts for lasting peace and development, and reiterated his resolve to further strengthen the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
