Country Manager of Iran Air Tour in Pakistan, Mr. Zaheer Abbas Khan, expressed pride in the strong Iran-Pakistan friendship.

Islamabad: In a landmark development in Pakistan-Iran relations, direct flights between Islamabad and Tehran have officially resumed after a gap of nearly sixty years. Under a new air agreement, Iran Air Tour will now operate a weekly direct flight every Tuesday between the two capitals.

A formal ceremony was held at Islamabad International Airport to mark the resumption of flights, attended by senior officials from both countries as well as a large number of guests. The event celebrated not only the revival of air connectivity but also the strengthening of bilateral ties.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Head of Mission of Iran in Pakistan, Mr. Nabi Shirazi, stated that “Iran and Pakistan are two brotherly Islamic countries with centuries-old historical and cultural ties. Our relationship is as strong as a rock and continues to grow stronger with time.”

He emphasized that the launch of Iran Air Tour flights would greatly facilitate religious pilgrims, students, and business communities, and boost tourism between the two nations. Shirazi credited the success of the air agreement to the recent visit of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to Pakistan, which played a key role in finalizing the deal. He thanked the Government of Pakistan for its cooperation and support in making this long-standing goal a reality.

Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, also expressed optimism, stating, “This direct flight will significantly promote tourism. Iranian tourists will now have the opportunity to experience the natural beauty and warm hospitality of Pakistan.”
