
Pakistan & China – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Pakistan and China on Tuesday reaffirmed their strong and trusted “iron-clad strategic partnership,” promising closer cooperation in all areas. This reflects the depth of their long-standing and unique friendship.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held from August 31 to September 1.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), both leaders agreed their relationship is special and unmatched. They stressed the need to enhance cooperation to reflect this strong bond.
The two leaders also discussed key regional and global issues. They agreed to continue close coordination between Pakistan and China on all international matters.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed Pakistan’s commitment to working with China on the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which includes five new development corridors.
He congratulated President Xi on the successful SCO summit in Tianjin and extended greetings on the 80th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War.

The prime minister praised President Xi’s visionary leadership, which has guided China toward modernization and progress. He said Pakistan is proud of China’s achievements and will always stand by its side.
PM Shehbaz appreciated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s security, sovereignty, and economic development. He called CPEC a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), aimed at building a stronger shared future for both countries.
He also endorsed China’s global initiatives, including the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative, which promote peace, stability, and growth worldwide.
President Xi assured that China will keep supporting Pakistan in economic development and growth. The second phase of CPEC will now focus on Pakistan’s most critical economic sectors.
Finally, PM Shehbaz invited President Xi to visit Pakistan next year to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
