Pakistan airstrike on Bagram Airbase destroys hangars and warehouses

Pakistan conducts major airstrikes on Bagram Airbase, targeting Taliban-linked facilities, sending strong message against cross-border militancy.

Pakistan  – (Web Desk) – Pakistan has launched a strong response to attacks by the Afghan Taliban, conducting a major airstrike on Bagram Airbase that destroyed an aircraft hangar and two warehouses.

The strike, confirmed by Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence and reported by The New York Times, was carried out as part of Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq. Satellite images reveal significant damage to the strategically important airbase facilities.

Reports highlight that elements of the group “Fitna al-Khawarij” have been repeatedly noted in United Nations documents as operating within Afghanistan. Pakistani officials say the airstrikes are part of ongoing ground and aerial operations in retaliation for unprovoked Taliban aggression.

Over the past week alone, Pakistan has reportedly carried out more than 50 airstrikes targeting military positions across Afghanistan.

Defence analysts said the successful strike on Bagram Airbase inflicted significant losses on the Afghan Taliban regime.

By targeting one of Afghanistan’s most prominent military installations, Pakistan had sent a clear message that it retains the capability to strike anywhere inside Afghan territory, if necessary, they added.

Experts further argued that despite repeated warnings from Islamabad, cross-border militancy from Afghan soil has continued, with weapons left behind by US forces being used in attacks.

The latest development follows an earlier successful air operation in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, where Pakistani forces destroyed the Khogani base during Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq.

A day before that, Pakistan’s armed forces reported carrying out effective retaliatory actions against Afghan Taliban positions, destroying an ammunition depot and a drone storage facility in Jalalabad.

According to the channel, those strikes were also conducted under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq and were directed at installations linked to “Fitna al-Khawarij” elements.

Security sources said Pakistani forces are targeting hideouts and military facilities associated with militants involved in cross-border attacks, maintaining that the operations are precise and focused on neutralising security threats.
