Pakistan Air Chief Visits Iraq to Strengthen Bilateral Air Force Cooperation
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu undertook a diplomatic and military visit to Iraq, holding talks with Lieutenant General Mahand Ghalib, Commander of the Iraqi Air Force, on expanding professional cooperation and bilateral military collaboration.
He was welcomed with a guard of honour at the Iraqi Air Force headquarters, underscoring the importance of the visit.
Discussions focused on enhancing joint training, capacity building, and operational coordination, with particular attention to strengthening practical cooperation between the two air forces.
The Air Chief emphasized the strong religious and historical ties between Pakistan and Iraq and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to assisting in the training and development of the Iraqi Air Force. Both sides agreed to promote joint exercises and training programs to improve interoperability and coordination.
The visit reflects the growing defense engagement between the two countries, aimed at raising professional standards, enhancing readiness, and building long-term military cooperation in the region.
