Pakistan & Afghan Taliban have agreed to extend their ceasefire.

Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban extend their ceasefire to support ongoing peace talks in Doha.

Pak – Afghan  – Ceasefire – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Official sources confirm that Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban have decided to continue their temporary peace agreement. This extension aims to support planned discussions in Doha.

Earlier, a foreign news report claimed that officials from both sides had mutually agreed to extend a 48-hour truce. The report also stated that a Pakistani group had already arrived in Doha for talks.

However, security forces have since corrected this information. They clearly stated that the Pakistani team has not yet left the country and is scheduled to fly to Doha tomorrow morning. They described the earlier news report as incorrect.

This current period of calm began last Wednesday evening. It was the result of a two-day ceasefire agreement announced by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.

The choice to extend the truce came after a request from the Afghan Taliban leadership. Both parties agreed to this after several days of heightened military activity along their shared border.
